Your Experience

Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio, an art museum, was once the seat of government. It still remains a symbol of local governance - since 1872 it has housed the office of the mayor of Florence, and it is the seat of the City Council. Use these skip-the-line tickets to escape the long queues and enter the courtyard of this majestic building. A series of stuccoes and frescoes, the key highlight of the courtyard is the replica of Michelangelo's David.

As you head up to the first floor, make sure to drop by the Salone dei Cinquecento (the Hall of the Five Hundred), the largest and most artistic room on the property, decorated by Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. It has also featured in the film version of Dan Brown’s Inferno. The second floor used to house the private rooms of the Medici court. Today, still lavishly furnished, it is where you'll find Donatello’s Judith. See the Room of the Maps, home to an enormous globe with more than 50 painted panels, offering a glimpse of the world during the 16th century. Discover secret routes among the chambers, such as the private studio of Francesco I de' Medici, formerly the Grand Duke of Tuscany.
